Even More Christmas Gift Ideas for 2007

Christmas isn't just the most romantic holiday of the year (how can snow, decorated trees and happy family dinners not beat Valentine's Day?), it's also the perfect occasion to shower your loved ones with gifts. But what do you get them? To help relieve you of some of the stress involved with choosing the perfect present, we've lined up some of the best Christmas gifts. Jingle bells!

Music: Our personal favorite, and the best way to make sure your friend, father or whoever you're giving the tunes to will enjoy your gift the whole year round. If you choose the right cd, that is. No idea what they like? Then buy a gift certificate - from your local record store, or the iTunes music store. While we're on the subject: a great way to show somebody how much you care is by giving them an iPod - the Shuffle for your cousins, a Nano for your sister and the 80 gig version for your lady or man...

Clothes: A tricky one, but when you get it right the recipient of that lovely negligé or beautiful satin scarf will love you to bits. Make sure you avoid the dreary necktie or novelty knitwear sweater with seasonal theme, though. There's no excuse for those.

Jewelry: Nothing says "I love you" quite like a golden necklace or diamond-studded bracelet. Just make sure your bank statement doesn't read "bankrupt" afterwards.

DVDs: 'A Wonderful Life' for Granny, 'Miracle On 34th Street' for Mom, 'Bad Santa' for your raunchy brother, 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' for your goth friend and 'Home Alone' for that bratty kid next door: plenty of seasonal movie fun to go around!

Activity: Feeling original? Why not surprise your loved one with tickets to a show, a voucher for a hot-air balloon trip or a gift certificate for a day-long spa treatment? And no, a handwritten note reading "good for a hike in the mountains in my priceless company" won't quite cut it.

Subscriptions: A great way to show the recipient of your gift you know them very well is by getting them a subscription to a magazine they don't get delivered yet. Make sure to stick to what they like though: don't impose your own taste.

Gift Certificates/Gift Cards: Admittedly, they do kind of say "I really didn't know what to get you" or "I was really lazy this year around", but gift certificates can actually make for great presents. Especially when they're from Saks Fifth Avenue or Harrod's. Or the Apple Store. Or from Barnes & Noble. Or from your local movie theatre. You know what? Gift certificates are actually pretty cool. Hope we get loads of those this Christmas...
